Aramid Tape

RexSeal RI 327 Aramid Fibre Woven Tape for Demanding Industrial Applications

RexSeal’s RI 327 Aramid Fibre Woven Tape, also known as Kevlar Woven Tape, Aramid Woven Tape, or Para-Aramid Tape, is made from woven aramid fibres. It is designed for industrial applications that require tensile strength, heat resistance, and toughness. The tape combines light weight with pressure and pulling-force performance. Its tensile strength is 2500 to 3600 MPa, its density is 1.44 g/cm³, and its maximum operating temperature is 250 to 350°C (482 to 662°F). The reinforced woven fabric can withstand temperatures up to 500°C (932°F) without melting or deforming.

Built for Thermal and Electrical Insulation

High-modulus aramid woven tapes are commonly used for electrical insulation of wire and cable, aircraft structural reinforcement, automotive component stiffening, bridge and concrete reinforcement, and heavy-duty vibration damping. In use, the woven fabric can carry heavy loads consistently without sagging. It also offers thermal stability, vibration resistance, and resistance to mechanical stresses, abrasion, and exposure to many chemicals.

Ideal as Structural and Component Reinforcement

Because it has high-modulus characteristics and a lower density than steel, RexSeal’s Aramid Woven Tape provides stiffness-to-weight performance. Compared with traditional metallic structures and standard woven materials, aramid fibre tapes are resistant to mechanical stresses and have greater durability in highly corrosive environments. They also offer chemical resistance to solvents and other fluids.

The RI 327 Aramid Fibre Woven Tape is used in aerospace and aviation, automotive, marine, construction, electrical insulation, and sporting goods industries. The tape is designed for use in structural reinforcement and thermal protection in extreme conditions.

FAQS

What are the main benefits of using RexSeal RI 327 Aramid Fibre Woven Tape?

The differences between the RI 327 and ordinary woven materials are that the RI 327 has amazing tensile strength while keeping it lightweight. Resistance to mechanical and thermal stresses, as well as chemical action, is also remarkable.

The service temperature range for this product is 250-350C (482-662F). The tape can be exposed to temperatures of up to 500C (932F) without melting.

Aerospace, aviation, automotive, marine, construction, electrical insulation, and sporting equipment industries use the material in their production.

Yes, the fibres have great resistance to solvents and chemical solutions as well as mechanical pressures. It is good for applications in highly corrosive and extreme environments.

The density of steel is greater than that of polyaramids, which means that steel is heavier and less flexible than the tape. High-modulus polyaramid ropes have better resistance to mechanical stresses and show better energy performance. Also, they resist the effects of chemicals and are much more durable than traditional ropes.
